Privacy Policy
The short version. Hello Phase has no account and no cloud copy of your cycle. Your periods, symptoms, moods and journal live only on your phone. One feature talks to a server, the coach. When you open a coach card or send a chat message, the app sends the minimum needed to write the reply, the server passes it to OpenAI, and nothing about you is stored afterwards.

What stays on your phone
- Period dates, cycle predictions, ovulation and fertile window estimates.
- Symptoms, moods, flow, journal entries, streaks and badges.
- Your first name if you enter one, your birth year, and pregnancy mode settings.
- App preferences and whether Premium is active.
All of this is stored in a local database inside the app's private storage. It is not uploaded to us. If you delete the app, it is gone. Settings has a "Delete my data" button that wipes it without deleting the app, and an export that builds a JSON file you can save wherever you like.
What leaves your phone, and why
Coach and "Ask your coach". These are generated by an AI model, so a request goes to our server. The request contains:
- A random device identifier the app created on first launch. It is not your name, email, phone number or advertising ID, and it cannot be linked to you by us.
- Your current cycle day, the symptoms you logged recently, your birth year, and pregnancy status if set.
- For chat, the message you typed and the last few turns of the same conversation.
Our server is a virtual private server we rent from Hostinger. It forwards the request to OpenAI to generate the reply and returns it to your phone. We do not keep the content of coach cards or chat messages on the server. The only thing kept is a counter per device identifier used for rate limits, which expires within seven days. OpenAI processes the request under its API terms, which state that API data is not used to train its models.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, a report is sent to Sentry, a crash-reporting service. It contains the device model, operating system version, app version, the technical stack trace, and the screens visited shortly before the crash. It does not contain your cycle entries.
Purchases. Premium is sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play. They handle payment and send the app a receipt. We never see your card details. We do not run a server for purchases.
Things you choose to share. Share cards, referral links and the data export go through your phone's share sheet to the app you pick. That is your action, and we do not receive a copy.
What we never do
- No advertising SDK, no ad tracking, no sale of data, no data brokers.
- No analytics profile of you. We do not know who you are.
- No access to your contacts, location, photos, or health app unless a future version asks you first.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. Turning them off in Settings or in your phone's notification settings stops them.
Children
Hello Phase is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights and choices
Because we do not hold personal data about you on our servers, the controls are in your hands. Delete my data in Settings, or uninstall the app, removes everything. If you live in a region with data protection rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar) and want to ask us anything about how the coach requests are processed, email us and we will answer within 30 days.
Security
Coach requests travel over HTTPS. The device identifier lives in your phone's secure keychain or keystore. Local data is protected by your phone's own storage encryption and lock screen.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will show a notice and this page will carry a new effective date.
